Brand and Web Design for a Translator

My client is a freelance, authorized translator based in Berlin. We developed a cohesive brand identity for her new business, tailored to her customers' needs. For the homepage, I built a WordPress site with Elementor that combines a clean, minimalist design with distinctive features. For face-to-face networking, I designed businesss cards. My goal was to create a visual concept that reflected confidentiality while focusing on convenience and safety. This is a project that is still being worked on. Some of the things that are planned are features like an online shop system.

Brand Identity

My client is a reliable and trustworthy translator. People who need translations for often sensitive documents require, above all, a simple and seamless translation process—from the initial contact to the delivery of the certified translation via registered mail. That is why I decided on a brand identity that emphasizes security and competence. The color palette of the design system was deliberately chosen to be simple and has been tested for optimal contrast. Since the color blue tends to have a calming effect on people and is associated by many with trust, competence, and security, I decided to establish a blue as the brand color.

The vector graphics are custom-designed for the client, incorporate the brand colors, and feature the brand identity in the form of the feather logo in the illustration depicting the translation process.

Manual Translations

It is common practice in the translation industry to manually translate one’s own website as a demonstration of one’s language skills. To make the website multilingual, I worked closely with the translator, who provided me with the texts via a shared document. In this case, it was very helpful that I am also fluent in the respective languages—German, Russian, and French.
